A professional refinishing may be in order two to three times during the life of your floor. Resurfacing with a strong and durable floor finish will restore the floor's original beauty, and help to protect it.
It is absolutely crucial, for the longevity of your hardwood floor, that only trained professionals refinish your hardwood floor. The wood of your floor may seem quite thick, but depending on how many times the floor has been sanded, there may be only a few millimetres of wood separating the surface from the tops of the installation nails. At BC Hardwood, our installers are trained to gently refinish your floor without detracting from its life.
We put the same care and attention into refinishing floors as we do installing them.

Large Sanding Machine: A carefully maintained machine plus an experienced operator are needed for success.

Perimeter Edger: An extremely difficult machine to operate succesfully. This machine sands the parts of the floor that the big machine cannot reach.

Filling the floor: We only use strong, quality fillers for this important part of the process.

Polishing the floor: This extra sanding process helps smooth things out ready for staining.

Staining the floor: Mostly a two man process, one to wipe stain on and one to wipe it off. This team has to move fast and be consistent. Experience is so important.

The finished result: A refinished floor that looks brand-new. Traditional White Oak Herringbone with custom stain and 3 coats of Glitsa Swedish finish.
